Hello there. I’ve spent the past week recovering from all of my travels and catching up with emails. It’s been incredibly humid in Boston, and my fan has been keeping me company (no a/c).
I’ve put together a black & white Lost In Thoughts today, for installment number 16. Enjoy!
Delphina Covered Jars from Crate&Barrel
These coverd jars are so charming. I especially like the squat one on the right. When I look at these I think of all of the beautiful things I could put into them. A collection of vintage bottle caps, mini paper cranes, flowers floating in water, hard candies, and buttons all come to mind. I also envision them in a beautifully bright room.
my talented cousin Rachel (my photo)
This past weekend I attended a joint 80th birthday party for my grandparents on my mom’s side. I come from a very musical family, and when we all get togehter there is always live entertainment. My favorite moment at the party was when my cousin Rachel took the stage to sing The Way You Look Tonight. She certainly has a presence; I couldn’t take my eyes off the girl!
This ring, by Etsy seller Dillion Designs, makes me smile. The little birds (as you know, I have an affinity for bird designs) are so sweet! I think the gold painted edges add a little extra flair. These rings are made to order, and you need to supply your ring size.
In keeping with today’s theme, this is a very interesting b&w music video. The song, by The Raveonettes, was commissioned for Gap’s 2008 The Sound of Color online marketing campaign. The video is by director/designer Chris Do.
Have you found any great black and white things (images, clothes, videos) lately?
Happy Thursday!

I love black & white photos. I always feel like there’s so much more emotion in them, when you aren’t distracted in any way by color. That’s a great shot of your cousin!
She looked so great; it wasn’t hard to take a cool photo.
