autumn is here!

Although people have been talking about it since Labor Day, fall didn’t officially begin until today. This is a beautiful time of year in New England.

I went apple picking on Saturday; it’s something I look forward to each year when the seasons change.

Sunday I made applesauce (my grandma’s recipe) and an Apple, Cheddar & Thyme Galette (recipe from fresh365). If you’re as crazy about apples as I am, you might like the apples set of cards.

Happy Autumn!

I love them apple cards! I saw the recipe on Fresh365 and I am determined to try it soon. How did it turn out? All of her recipes look amazing. I’ve only made a couple, but they were great.

The recipe was pretty good (looked amazing — see mine here: http://objectsofcomm.blogspot.com/2009/09/apple-cheddar-thyme-galette.html), but it was too salty. I’m actually wondering if I used the wrong measurements, but next time I’m not going to use any salt at all. Or maybe just a pinch to taste. If you make it let me know how it turns out! I just love love fresh365.

I’m glad you tried out the recipe. Too bad it was too salty! Its possible the difference in Cheddars we used might be the culprit as well! I’m dying to go apple picking soon. Still a few weeks left I think?

Ohhhh, the salt in the cheese! I never even thought of that. I bet that had something to do with it! Doesn’t matter – I had a great time trying something new and I’ll definitely try it (and some of your other recipes) again. :)
