lost in thoughts #32

Today I’ve done something a little different for my weekly inspiration post: I’ve spent some time gathering inspirational quotes and pairing them with photographs. I’m going to let them speak for themselves, so my comments will be brief. Enjoy!

katharine-hepburn-quote

Katharine Hepburn is one of my favorite actresses; she had perfect comedic timing. I read her autobiography, and I believe she knew how to enjoy life.

christopher morley quote

I have this quote tacked up on the wall beside my desk as a reminder to have confidence in myself and my ideas.

roald dahl quote

I find many things magical, including the reflection of lights on the water.

J.K. Rowling Speaks at Harvard Commencement from Harvard Magazine on Vimeo.

I just finished re-reading the Harry Potter series (some of the books for the 3rd or 4th time!), so I’ve got J.K. Rowling on my mind. My favorite line is near the end of her speech:

We do not need magic to change the world, we carry all the power we need inside ourselves already: we have the power to imagine better.

Beautifully put, and so true.

Today’s question: What’s your favorite quote?

-April

Note: All of the photos are my own.

Lost In Thoughts is a weekly series. I started this feature because I’m inspired by the amazing things I see on blogs and Etsy, and by family, friends, readers’ comments, and life. I don’t want to keep all of these wonderful finds to myself, so I gather them together on Thursdays to share with you.

Mina

I came across this one this morning that I really like – both powerful and simple. It’s from Joan Benoit Samuelson, the first women’s olympic marathon winner, a women’s running and health advocate, a New England native and Red Sox fan, and an all around inspirational woman:

“Recognize your victories.”

iIve always liked John Cage’s comment:”Everyone is in the best seat”.
I try to remember that when I get envious. Also “God is a comedian whose audience is afraid to laugh”, though I can never remember who said it!

Oh, I really like that! Thanks for sharing :)

Another excellent quote!
