lost in thoughts #53

Hey, hey! Welcome my 53rd inspiration post. This week I’m obsessed with animals. (It just might be because of some new designs I’ve been working on!)

Gatsby the French Bulldog by Jen Huang

How sweet is this puppy? Oh. My. God. I think I’m in love! If you know me, it’s no secret that I can’t wait to get my own dog. I spend a lot of time saying “oooooh, I like that dog!” or “let’s not get that one.” The French bulldog just moved up the list (the malamute is still at the top, though). Visit Jen Huang’s blog and site for more of her absolutely stunning photography. (Extra awesome: she photographed a wedding in North Adams, my hometown!)

Bears Beets Battlestar tee from Doubletake Clothing

The Office is my favorite show. And this shirt illustrates a classic Jim-mocking-Dwight moment (see it here). I want it.

Jim: Fact: Bears eat beets. Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica.
Dwight: Bears do not — What is going on? What are you doing?

Oh man, I laugh every time I see it. And I just watched that clip like 10 times in a row. I’m always more productive and inspired when I’m happy, are you?

Framed Animal Portrait by Ryan Berkley

This raccoon portrait makes me laugh. He looks so scholarly. Very wise. I’d hang this in a room with floor-to-ceiling bookshelves, cozy armchairs, and those lamps with green shades. It would add some whimsy to the room, and I just adore whimsy.

Handmade Portraits: Sharon Montrose from Etsy on Vimeo.

If you haven’t seen this video yet, do make sure to watch it. It’s a wonderful look at the behind-the-scenes of the fabulous Sharon Montrose. Every once in awhile I browse her Etsy shop, just because it makes me smile. One of these days I’ll be purchasing a print (or 4). She captures these little critters in a magical way; she shows us their characters. (via The Storque)

Today’s question: Do you have a pet? Share a link to a photo! Click here to see my family’s dog, Z.

Lost In Thoughts is a weekly series. I started this feature because I’m inspired by the amazing things I see on blogs and Etsy, and by family, friends, readers’ comments, and life. I don’t want to keep all of these wonderful finds to myself, so I gather them together on Thursdays to share with you.

Thanks for sharing the Sharon Montrose video! Apart from being totally awesome, I loved what she said about what happens when photography stops being a hobby to become a job! And btw, The Office is my favorite show too!! :)

She’s awesome, isn’t she? Glad you liked it!

Her love just bursts through — isn’t that wonderful? I don’t do animal pictures, but we have a small herd of wild deer that walk by my studio window early some mornings. It is mesmerizing to see them so close, how they pause and look around — how still they stand and then they bound away. Thank you “everything little miss for posting this on facebook.

You’re so welcome! I’m glad you enjoyed it. I wish I had deer walking around my apartment in the mornings; that sounds just lovely!

Love these pics, just a beautiful way to shoot a pup. I’m taking some ideas away from this post for my next shoot. Thanks. I really enjoy this blog, still not sure how I stumbled upon it!

Thank you so much for visiting! I love the sweet, sweet photography of that little puppy.
