This week my boyfriend left for a 10 week internship in Philadelphia, PA. Since his departure early Tuesday morning, I’ve been thinking about saying goodbye, office life, and Philly. This is what I’ve been looking at:
waving goodbye from train in 1935 from State Library of Queensland, Australia’s flickr
There are all sorts of goodbyes. Sometimes it’s a relief to part ways. It can be casual, no big deal. There are sad, tearful farewells and smiley see-you-laters. But for some reason, when I think of a picture to represent saying goodbye, people waving from a train comes to mind; it wasn’t too hard to find an old photograph on flickr.

I haven’t worked in an office since 2008, and I haven’t really thought about cubicles since then. But now that my boyfriend will be back to a normal job for the summer (he’s in between his first and second years of business school), I’ve been wondering what it looks like. I’m picturing grey cubes. Hopefully nothing about it will be reminiscent of Office Space!
LOVE Park Philly photo by Allison Ostertag
I’ve seen many pictures of the LOVE sculpture, but until this week I had no idea it was located in Philly’s LOVE Park! This is a landmark I’d like to visit. Anything else I should see when I make a trip down there?

This is my favorite scene from The Philadelphia Story. Embedding is disabled on this video, but you should totally click through and check it out. And if you haven’t seen the movie – goodness – just see it! I’m a huge Katharine Hepburn fan! She’s just wonderful.

Lost In Thoughts is a weekly series. I started this feature because I’m inspired by the amazing things I see on blogs and Etsy, and by family, friends, readers’ comments, and life. I don’t want to keep all of these wonderful finds to myself, so I gather them together on Thursdays to share with you.
