lost in thoughts #63

Most days, I go for a walk around 5:00 PM. Sometimes I bring a camera with me so I can capture the little surprises I discover. I especially love when I find sweet suggestions that kids rule the neighborhood. Here are some of the things I’ve seen in the past few weeks:

minot rose garden basked in sunlight

I visit this public rose garden frequently. Being surrounded by exciting colors and heavenly scents is a lovely way to spend an afternoon. On the other side of the park there’s a playground, so there are always kids running around and laughing, too.

pink lily

There are a whole bunch of bright blossoms and flowering bushes in front of an apartment building on my regular route. This pink lily caught my attention. Such delicious hues, don’t you think?

10¢ for a cup of water

Before I saw the sign, I saw the water stand. There were two little girls – maybe 5 or 6 – and an older brother who looked to be about 8. As I walked by he stage-whispered “yell girls!” Then they started screaming, “WHO WANTS WATER? WHO WANTS WAAATER?” It really was pretty cute. Unfortunately, I had to pass up the amazing opportunity because I didn’t have any money with me. (I guess they didn’t have any lemons?)

red dog

A lost and lonely dog perched on a stone wall. I imagine it was just waiting for it’s owner. I like to think they were reunited since it was gone the next day.

Today’s question: How often do you take walks? Do you ever seen anything fun?

Lost In Thoughts is a weekly series. I started this feature because I’m inspired by the amazing things I see on blogs and Etsy, and by family, friends, readers’ comments, and life. I don’t want to keep all of these wonderful finds to myself, so I gather them together on Thursdays to share with you.
