wins

Last week I told you that I’ve been working with a great career coach. During our phone sessions, we discuss my weekly goals and obstacles I’m facing. We also talk about all of the great stuff that has been happening! I started keeping track so I’d have awesome things to report, and I was blown away by how many cool things happen each week (even each day). It’s so easy to forget the small things (like a new twitter follower or nice comment on my blog), but they really add up quickly. A few weeks ago, I was telling Michelle about my list, and she suggested that I get a notebook dedicated to all of my wins, big + small.

You guys! I’m so glad I did, because I freaking love this notebook! I don’t write down every single detail of my life, but I sometimes keep track of smaller things like new shop hearts or super sweet twitter mentions. If it’s a big win — something I worked really hard to achieve — I also keep track of the steps I took to get there. For example, if I get positive feedback to a sales pitch, I’ll write down the feedback + what I said in the pitch.

I think everybody should have a Win Book. It’s just a great way to appreciate everyday while tracking your successes. Accentuate the positive, isn’t that what they say?

P.S. My Win Book is made of an old school composition notebook + brown paper bag + red Sharpie marker + sparkly star stickers + red glitter glue. It makes me feel a little like Harriet The Spy (which is 100% awesome).

This makes me so happy it’s ridiculous. And it so looks like Harriet the Spy, who I forgot I used to love! She might even be cooler than Nancy Drew. You, Little Miss, are cooler than both of ‘em combined. Yup. I said it.

Totally 100% awesome! Yay!

This is such a fabulous idea. So simple, yet no one does it. And it’s so easy to forget all of the small victories in each day, or even worse, take them all for granted. Thank you for sharing this! It definitely inspired me to do the same and brought a big smile to my face.

Thanks everybody! You better believe these awesome comments are getting a spot in my win book :)
