lost in thoughts #8

Welcome to this week’s Lost In Thoughts. It’s a bit eclectic, but that’s what makes it fun!

Londoner Parusha Lewis writes the blog Lewidoo fancies, which is always filled with sweet images and interesting stories. Recently Parusha went on a vacation to Lyme Regis, and her photos make me want to visit! Look at this row of little doors painted in pretty pastels. I grew up in a very colorful house, so I’m always thrilled to see people experimenting with color. She also photographed homes with dainty lace curtains and other bright doors.

You may also want to check out Goodness Greatness, a new endeavor for Parusha (and her husband, I believe).

I have an affinity for calendars. This one hangs right by my desk and inspiration board, because I love Marilyn Monroe. Luckily, my mom’s into old movies so I saw her in Some Like It Hot when I was pretty young. She was a wonderful comedienne and a true beauty. The story of her life is rather tragic, but she certainly made a lasting impression.

Marilyn Monroe’s birthday was Monday, so I just had to write something about her!

Last week I visited the Central Burying Ground within Boston Common. I visited on a rainy day, and the colors of the grass, trees, and stones were super-saturated. The gravestones are old and delicate, and clearly from a different era. I was the only visitor, and I found the historic site very peaceful. It felt like I’d stepped into another world.

And talk about lasting impressions; this gravestone has been around since 1784.

Yesterday I happened upon this video about a ridiculously versatile dress by Butter by Nadia. Once I started watching the different ways this dress can be worn, I couldn’t stop! It’s really very impressive. It’s just so cool; I can’t get over it.

Your turn! What are in love with this week? What’s making you think? What’s inspiring you to create?

I have four new cards and some news to post about soon, so make sure you come back to get the scoop!

Thanks April! Great post! I’m honoured to be featured on your blog!! YOU’VE MADE MY DAY!

I’m seriously considering buying that dress! So cool! Something like that would be awesome for all your HBS events! One time investment and lots of different looks.

I like that dress too.
